Mr. Jim Davis age 76, a well known resident of the Hill City Community, died Thursday September 25, 2014 at his residence, following six months declining health.
Mr. Davis was born in Gordon County, Georgia on November 26, 1937, son of the late Raymond Davis and Ellen Baker Davis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Faye Davis in 2007.
He was a Master Gunsmith and was a member of Meadowdale Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Mann of Calhoun and James Mann of Resaca; two daughters, Dorothy Jean Siffles of Summerville, and Shirley Shepherd of North Carolina;
grandchildren, Lamar and Roger Siffles, Christopher and Keith Gentry, Brent and Aaron Mann, and Stephanie Brock and Renee Stinson. Several great-grandchildren and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Jim Davis will be conducted Saturday September 27th at 3:00 PM from the family Cemetery in Hill City, with Dr. Steven Pearson officiating. Pallbearers serving will include, Justin Stinson, Paul Bates, Aaron Mann, Brent Mann, Lamar Siffles and Roger Siffles. Honorary pallbearers are Dee Bates, Dr. Garry Tate, and members of Mr. Davis Sunday School Class at Meadowdale Baptist Church.
