James Edward Wilson Sr

Mr. James Edward Wilson Sr., 85, of Resaca died on Friday, October 31, 2014. He was born in Gordon County on April 15, 1929, son of the late Bertha Greeson Wilson and Walt Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James E. Wilson Jr., his brother, Ralph Wilson, and an Infant sister.

Mr. Wilson was a retired farmer and construction worker. He was a life long resident of Gordon County and loved spending time with his family and friends.

He leaves behind his wife Coleen Lillie Causby Wilson, to whom he wouldve been married to 67 years in December; a daughter, Gwen Eden of Resaca; a brother, Ernest Wilson and his wife Sue of Sugar Valley; four grandchildren, Jeff Holmes and his wife Heather of Resaca, Kevin Holmes and his wife Tamara of Calhoun, Cindy Fortmann and her husband Tim of Johns Creek, and Laura Melkerson of Ohio; great- grandchildren, Ashley Holmes of Reseca, Hunter Holmes of Calhoun, Kaylie Holmes of Calhoun, Kylie Holmes of Calhoun, Khloe Holmes of Calhoun, Bailey Fortmann of Johns Creek, Jaden Fortmann of Johns Creek, Micaela Lanning of Ohio, and Trey Lanning of Ohio. Several nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws, and sister-in-laws also survive.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. James Edward Wilson Sr., will be held Monday, November 3rd at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow at Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Jeff Holmes, Kevin Holmes, Hunter Holmes, Kevin Holomback, Tim Fortman, Willard Childers, and Shane Causby. Honorary pallbearers are Everette Greeson and Russell Hicks.

The Wilson family will receive friends on Sunday, November 2nd from 4:00 PM- 8:00 PM.
