Obituary

James Franklin Gravitt, 75, of Rome, GA, died Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Floyd Hospital following a sudden illness. He was born in Calhoun on January 3, 1944, son of the late Marcus and Ruby Stanley Gravitt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Gravitt.
Survivors include his son, Brandon Gravitt; his sisters, Lillian Greeson of Plainville, and Barbara Pratt of Calhoun; and a sister-in-law, Linda Gravitt Evans.
Services to honor the life of James Franklin Gravitt will be held Saturday, March 9th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Garland and Rev. Joe Fountain officiating. Burial will follow in Scott Cemetery in Plainville. Pallbearers will include Wade Gravitt, Dusty Trotter, Sonny Fox, Derek Yarbrough, Chris Evans, and Eric Gravitt.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 8th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
