James Harold Touchstone Jr

Mr. James Harold "Jim" Touchstone, Jr., age 62 of Adairsville, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008 at his residence following a nine month illness. He was born in Ringgold, GA on October 15, 1945, son of J.H. Touchstone, Sr. and the late Bessie Wright Touchstone. Mr. Touchstone was a veteran, having served his country in the United States Navy, and was employed by Oriental Weavers in Dalton. He was a member of Meadowdale Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Casey Touchstone; his father, J.H. Touchstone, Sr.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tonya and Glenn Goodroe of Gulf Breeze, FL, and Jayla and Shane Serritt of Sugar Valley; a sister and brother-in-law, Lareeta and Gary Darling of Columbia, KY; and three grandchildren, Joseph Thomas Goodroe, Kristen Alyssa Goodroe, and Chandler Shane Serritt.

Funeral services for Mr. James Harold "Jim" Touchstone, Jr. will be conducted Tuesday, August 12 at 4:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Dr. Steven Pearson officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm.

Active pallbearers will include Julian Touchstone, Chuck Touchstone, Garlan Touchstone, Joel Touchstone, Baron Touchstone, and Steve Wright. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home Tuesday at 3:15pm.

Honorary pallbearers are Chuck Mangrum, Robert Howerton, Doug Higgins, Scottie Higgins, Geert Coone, Gary Darling, Travis Darling, Danny Hinsley, Larry Wright, Anthony Dunford, Ernest Bunch, AMRO employees, Charles Wright, Alton Addison, Mike Connaly, Kip Connell, Roger Black, Glenn Goodroe, Shane Serritt, Harvey Voltz, Butch Kennedy, W.C. Gray, Jerry McCullough, and Gary O'Dell. They are asked to meet at the funeral home Tuesday at 3:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mr. Touchstone's name to Meadowdale Baptist Church.
