James Howard Leonard

Mr. James Howard Leonard, age 81 of Calhoun, died Friday afternoon, September 28, 2007 at Gordon Hospital, following several weeks of illness.

Mr. Leonard was born on May 01, 1926 in Cherokee County, son of the late Benjamin Howard Leonard and Lucille Clayton Leonard. He was also preceded in death by two sisters; Mavis Fortenberry, and Elizabeth Burchett and three brothers; Jess Leonard, G.W. Leonard and Bradford Leonard.

Mr. Leonard is survived by two sisters; Flora Mae Hale of Fairmount, and Ruth Leonard of Calhoun; three brothers; Gene Leonard and Grady Leonard both of Calhoun, and Junior Leonard of Rockmart. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. James Howard Leonard will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Freddie Morris and Rev. Fred Lee officiating. Pallbearers serving will include Terry Erwin, Bo Leonard, Wiley Leonard, Avery Chadwick, Ricky Leonard and Zach Grizzle. Burial will follow the service in the family lot at Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery at Rydal. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Saturday evening after 5:00pm.
