James Jonathan "Ott" Oliver

Mr. James Jonathan "Ott" Oliver, 68 of Calhoun, died Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Erlanger Medical Center, following several weeks of declining health. He was born in Gordon County on October 14, 1948, son of the late Andy and Frances Smith Oliver.
Ott attended Red Bud Schools, and was a member and Sunday School teacher at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Paulette England Oliver; his sons, Donald Oliver and Andy Oliver, both of Cartersville; his daughter and son, Erin Conaway and Jerry Conaway of Calhoun ; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sammy and Bonnie Oliver of Calhoun, and David and Christine Oliver of Fayetteville, NC; a sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Kelly Cordell of Calhoun; grandchildren, Jade, Breanna, Sharika, and Addison; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, Alfie Pierce, Todd Lambert, Michael Lambert, Scott Oliver, Shanda Balliew, Melanie Harwell, Tina Oliver, Tonya Valdez, Carl England III, Jamison England, Tuesday Lanier, and Joshua England.
Services to honor the life of Mr. James Jonathan "Ott" Oliver will be held Thursday, October 27th at 2:00 PM from Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, with Rev. Eddie Brannon and Rev. Michael Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. The Deacons of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
The Oliver family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 26th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
