James Richard Morrison

Mr. James Richard Morrison, age 83 of Calhoun, died Monday, January 19, 2015 at his home following a period of declining health. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 13, 1931, son of the late James and Clara Bolin Morrison.

Mr. Morrison was a veteran, serving his country in the US Navy.

He leaves behind his wife, Shirley Cothran Morrison; four sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Mary Morrison of Kissimmee, FL, Brian and Pam Morrison of Lexington, SC, Brent and Tammy Morrison of Bayard, FL, and Jeff and Rena Morrison of Navarre, FL; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Frankie Morrison of Mt. Clemens, MI; and three grandchildren he raised as his own children, Kenneth (JJ) Shuman, Jacob (Jake) Shuman, and Zachary (Zach) Shuman. Seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren also survive.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. James Richard Morrison will be held Thursday, January 22nd at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Chaplain Dan Barton officiating.

The Morrison family will receive friends Thursday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the service hour.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of United Hospice for their care of Mr. Morrison.
