James Robert Dooley

James Robert "Bob" Dooley, 78, of Dalton, GA died Wednesday, October 4, 2017. He was born on November 13, 1938 in Gordon County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Dooley and Beatrice Sartin Dooley.

Bob was a proud veteran of the United States Army; he served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a member of Center Point Baptist Church. Bob loved gardening and being a farmer. He was a wonderful grandfather who set a powerful example for his grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his wife of 18 years, Etta Mae Ellis Dooley; sons and daughters-in-law, Matt Dooley; Lee Ann Dooley, Tom and Erica Dooley, and Dusty and Tammy Norrell; grandchildren, Hannah Dooley, Emma Dooley, Carolynn Dooley, Bryan Dooley, Lilly Dooley, Danielle Dooley, and Brittany Norrell; a great-grandson, Bryson Carter; brothers and sister-in-law, Trammell and Mary Dooley, and Ray (Pep) Dooley Jr.; sisters and brother-in-law, Sharon Angland, Helen Talley, and Phyllis and Londel Wiggley; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The Dooley family will receive friends on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Center Point Baptist Church. Rev. Matt Futch, Rev. Dwaine Shadix, and Rev. Eddie Brannon will officiate. Pallbearers are Mike Dooley, Mark Dooley, Mitch Dooley, Bill Talley, T.J. Dooley, and Bo Dooley; the men of Center Point Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
