Mr. James Robert Hendrix, age 67 of Ranger, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Piedmont Hospital. He was born in Gordon County on January 21, 1947, son of the late Dewey and Toy Mae Mullinax Hendrix.
Mr. Hendrix was a retired truck driver with Conagra/Pilgrims Pride. He loved his family and grandchildren, and was most happy doing for others. He was a member of Miracle Temple Church. God has gained an Angel.
He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Oris Lois Stone Hendrix; three daughters, Lora Barron and her husband Arturo of Ranger, and Cory Hamby and Colleen Craig, both of Jasper; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Karen Hendrix, Ronald Lee and Betty Hendrix, and Vernon and Ann Hendrix, all of Ranger, and Jimmy and Sheena Hendrix of Ellijay; and three sisters, Estelle Rogers, Lorene German and her husband Teddy, and Joyce Tillman and her husband Joe, all of Ranger. Grandchildren surviving are Dalton Hamby, Cheyenne Hamby, Jazmin Jimenez, Maria Barron, Jose Barron, Carlos Barron, Azaree Craig, and Shanna Craig. Niece, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. James Robert Hendrix will be held Friday, May 16th at 2:00 PM from Miracle Temple Church, with Rev. Joe Tillman and Rev. Bobby Timms officiating. Music will be arranged by Adrian Craig and Rod Hendrix. Pallbearers will include Marshall Young, Manuel Young, Louis Palasious, Dalton Hamby, Victor Jimenez, and Jose Barron.
The Hendrix family will receive friends at Miracle Temple Church beginning Thursday, May 15th after 3:00 PM, and continuing until the service hour Friday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the James Robert Hendrix Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1027, Calhoun, GA 30703.
