Mr. James (J.C.) Starks, 49 , of Calhoun died Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from a sudden heart attack while at work.
James was born in Dalton, Georgia on February 9, 1972, son of the late James Earl and Barbara Ann Morris Starks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Heath. James attended Valley Point School and Southeast Whitfield High School and was employed by W.A. Kendall & Company for the past seven years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen "Ghorley" Starks to whom he was married for 20 years; three sons, David Starks of Crossville, TN, Andrew Starks of Calhoun and Christian Starks of Calhoun; grandchildren, Travis Fortner and Athena Gowan; sister, Phyllis Heath Hudgins of Rocky Face; brother, Ben Earl Starks of Dalton; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. James (J.C.) Starks will be held on Sunday, March 7th at 1:30 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. James David Nix officiating. Interment will follow in Faith and Deliverance Church Cemetery at Resaca. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 6th between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM at the funeral home
The Starks family, along with the staff of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home remind anyone in attendance to keep in mind the current guidelines set forth by the CDC as it pertains to social gatherings including social distancing, gathering limits, and face masks.
