James Talmadge Parker

September 8, 1932 — October 19, 2007

Mr. James Talmadge Parker age 75 of Calhoun, passed away Friday October 19, 2007. He was born in Gilmer County on September 8, 1932, son of the late James Frances Parker and the late Ider Rhoda Stokes Parker. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Marie Watson Parker; one daughter; Joann Parker and three sisters; Ella Mae, Ludie and Geniva.

Survivors include three daughters; Jean Walker of Calhoun, Rita Howard and her husband Billy of Sugar Valley, and Ramona Strickland and her husband Paul of Calhoun; four sisters; Rhoda Bassett of Laguna Beach, Fla., Priscilla Freestone of Live Oak, Fla., Dixie Boswell of Calhoun and Viola Holiday of Sonoraville; three brothers; Rev. Clifford Parker of Calhoun, and Henry Parker and William Parker, both of Chatsworth. Six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for James Talmadge Parker will be conducted Saturday October 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Reid officiating. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Oostanaula. Pallbearers serving will include Daniel Howard, Jeff Howard, Phillip Howard, Lamar Massingill, Chad Massingill, Ronnie Strickland and Bobby Banks. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Friday after 5:00 p.m.
