James Weyland Smith

Mr. James Weyland Smith, age 95 of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012. He was born in Marietta on November 24, 1916, the fourth of ten children to the late Henry G. Smith and Ellie Mae Kincaid Smith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Bradford Smith, his parents, and eight siblings, Henry G. Smith, Jr., Doris Smith Cauthon, Harold K. Smith, Emily Smith Lowe, William Adair Smith, Joseph Robert Smith, Jacqueline Smith Mason and David A. Smith. He is survived by one brother, Donald D. Smith and his wife Carol.

Weyland's career was in sales with Campbell Coal Company in Atlanta and Sears Roebuck in Fayetteville. He and his wife Jean moved to Calhoun after they had both retired.

Graveside service will be conducted 2:00pm Monday at Chandler Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1:00pm Monday at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

The family requests no floral tributes. Donations can be made to Calhoun First Methodist Church.
