James William Mulkey

Mr. James William Mulkey, age 72 of Calhoun, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Gordon Health Care following several years of declining health. He was born in Fairmount on May 19, 1938, son of the late John Monroe "Roe" Mulkey and the late Birdie Pierce Mulkey. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Patterson, Willie Fountain, and Esteen Bohannon.

Mr. Mulkey was retired from the textile industry, and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Kenneth Hammonds of Resaca; grandchildren, Jacob Razo, Ricky Razo, and Pamala Ann Fowler; his ex-spouse, Patricia Page; a step-son, Billy Popejoy of Calhoun; a step-daughter, Nancy Lyon of Alabama; and a special niece, Shelty Whitener of Cartersville. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. James William Mulkey will be conducted Sunday, January 1 at 1:00pm from the graveside of Chandler Cemetery, with Rev. Hershel Pierce and Rev. Donnie Whitener officiating. Active pallbearers will include Kenneth Hammonds, Billy Popejoy, Morris Whitener, Ricky Pierce, Robert Hammonds, and Keith Hammonds.
