Obituary

Janet Lee Francis, 75, of Calhoun, passed peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2019, surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was born in Gary, IN on August 6, 1944, daughter of the late S. David Lee and the late June Daniels Lee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie W. Francis on January 8, 2019; and her sister and brother-in-law, Laurel and Joe Wielogorski.
Janet was retired from the US Postal Service after 35 years of service. She served our country as president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW for many years.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Eric Blake of Calhoun, and Tommy and Andrea Francis Jr. of Indianapolis, IN; her daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and William Abernathy of Cartersville, Tammey and Bob Taylor of Dover, TN, and Kelley and James Leach of Portage, IN; grandchildren, Tristin McKnight and his fianc Karly, Tyler McKnight, Tyler Abernathy, Aubree Ann Abernathy, Allen Austin Stoner, Autumn Stoner, Jonathon Buchanan, Angela Buchanan, Theo Francis, and Ina Francis; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Ethan Stoner, Kai Buchanan, Lynna Gray, and Faith Zombranna; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Debbie Lee of Portage, IN; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Christine Blake, and Glen and Barb Blake, all of Evansville, IN; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Louise Shanks, and Debbie and Jerry Allen, all of Evansville, and Jeanette and Lonnie Alderson of Kentucky.
A Memorial Service to honor her life will be held Friday, November 15th, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Victory Fellowship Church in Resaca, with Rev. Terry Timms officiating.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun.
