Janice Irwin Abernathy

Janice Irwin Abernathy, 74 of Calhoun, died Monday, January 8, 2018 at her residence, following several months of declining health. She was born in Cobb County, GA, on July 21, 1943, daughter of the late Clayton and Mildred Dodson Irwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Irwin; and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Meadows.

She leaves behind her husband of 58 years, Marion "Earl" Abernathy; her sons, Greg Abernathy and Brian Abernathy; her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Bruce Stocks, all of Calhoun; her sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Meadows of Marietta, GA, and Nancy and Albin Carter of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Brittany Bunch and her husband T.J., Brie Welch and her husband Curt, Brody Stocks and his wife Carrie, Rhett Abernathy, River Abernathy, and Raghn Abernathy; and great-grandchildren, Bowen and Baylor Bunch, and Colt Welch. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Services to honor the life of Janice Irwin Abernathy will be held Tuesday, January 9th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
