Obituary

Ms. Velvia Jeanette (Stafford) Hayes, 79, of Chatsworth, died Monday, August 17, 2020, at AdventHealth-Gordon after several months of declining health.
Mrs. Hayes was born in Whitfield County, Georgia, January 14, 1941, daughter of the late, Horace, and Dexter Stafford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers; Herman, Carl, and Ralph Stafford and her beloved fur baby, Josie. She was a member of Higher Praise Church of God.
Survivors include her daughter; Brenda Goforth (Doug Bartley) and a son; Gary Hayes (Susan), two sisters; Betty Fagala and Mary Dean, three brothers; Gordon, Howard and Grady Stafford, four grandchildren; Chevy Bradley, Tabitha and Adam Campbell, Gary Hayes Jr. and Kristina Hayes, great-grandchildren; Amberly and Ashton Page, Alyssa Bruce, Alayah Rivera, Griffin, Klea and Wyatt Hayes, Channing, Brintlie and Zachery Beach.
Funeral services for Ms. Velvia Jeanette Hayes will be held Wednesday at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Derek Ingle officiating. Interment will follow in the Higher Praise Cemetery with Rev. Dino Bishop conducting the graveside service.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 19th between the hours of 10:00 AM and 12:00 Noon at the funeral Home.
It is requested by the family that those who attend the visitation and/or funeral, wear a mask and observe social distancing guidelines, with no hugging or shaking hands.
