Jeremy Lamar Starkey

Mr. Jeremy Lamar Starkey, age 30 of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Gordon County on March 14, 1977, son of Lee Burk and Karen Starkey. He was employed by Stanton Carpets, and was preceded in death by grandfathers, Floyd Burk and Frank Starkey.

Survivors include his wife of nine years, Jamie Starkey; three daughters, Catlin Townsend, age 13, Emily Starkey, age 6, and Ashlyn Starkey, age 4; two brothers, Frank Burk and Joe Burk, both of Calhoun; and grandmothers, Dorothy Starkey and Alma Burk. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Jeremy Lamar Starkey will be conducted Wednesday, February 27 at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will include Josh Hammond, Chris McBee, Robert Green, Steve Starkey, Shane McMahan, Bryan Black, and Jeff Black. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home Wednesday at 10:15am. Honorary pallbearers include Ray Valentine, Mike Freeman, Joey Fowler, Allen Starkey, Anthony Long, and Frank Burk. They are asked to meet at the funeral home Wednesday at 10:45am. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday between the hours of 5:00pm and 9:00pm.
