Jerry B. Nations

Sr. Master Sgt. (Retired) Jerry B. Nations, age 72 of Rome, GA died Saturday, August 31, 2013 following a period of declining health. He was born in Gordon County on April 4, 1941, son of Willie Mae Bowman Nations and the late Quinton H. Nations.

Sgt. Nations served his country in the US Air Force for 26 years, and also retired form Mohawk Industries. He was a member of East Calhoun Church.

He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Carolyn Burroughs Nations of the residence; his mother, Willie Mae Bowman Nations of Calhoun; two sons, Scottie Nations of Rome, and Anthony Brent (Wendy) Nations of Amarillo, TX; a daughter, Stephanie (Allen) Weaver of Gaylesville, AL; and a brother, Ted (Sandy) Nation of Calhoun. Grandchildren surviving are Brittni Reams of Tallahassee, FL, Hunter Nations of Calhoun, Skyler Nations, Tori Nations, and Austin Nations, all of Amarillo; great-grandchildren, Landon Reams and Emma Grace Reams, both of Tallahassee; and a nephew, David Nation.

Funeral services for Sr. Master Sgt. Jerry B. Nations will be held Wednesday, September 4th at 11:00 AM from East Calhoun Church, with Pastor Keith Reid officiating. Sgt. Nations will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow Thursday at 2:00 PM in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, with full military honors. Active pallbearers will include Billy Reams, Charlie Dampier, Joe Culberson, David Nation, Allen Lange, Brooks Wright, Ashley Carver, and Jimmy English.

The Nations family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday, September 3rd after 5:00 PM.
