Jerry Lamar Parker

Mr. Jerry Lamar Parker, age 57 of Resaca, passed away Monday, February 6, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Gordon County on October 7, 1954, son of the late Claude and Avanell Lorene Buffington Parker. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Parker, and a sister, Jo Pack.

Mr. Parker was an avid NASCAR fan, and was employed with Carriage Industries for 27 years. He attended the Full Bible Church.

Survivors include three brothers, Claude Parker, Jr., Danny Parker, and Jackie Parker, all of Calhoun; and two sisters, Ruth Logan of Calhoun, and Brenda Clayton of Cohutta. Aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Lamar Parker will be held Thursday, February 9th at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Jarrett officiating. Music will be arranged by Traveling by Faith. Active pallbearers will include Howard Cloer, Greg Newberry, David Hand, John Underwood, Brent Parker, and Keith Parker. Interment will follow the service in the Corinth Cemetery.

The Parker family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
