Jerry Ray Henson

Mr. Jerry Ray Henson, age 61 of Rome, formerly of Calhoun, died Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Redmond Regional Medical Center. He was born in Gordon County on June 1, 1953, son of the late Charles Franklin Henson and the late Ora McDearis Henson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, J.D. Henson, and a sister, Dymple Cox.

Jerry was a loving person and loved people. During his younger years, he had participated in the Special Olympics.

Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, C.F. and Georgia Henson of Kentucky; four sisters, Bessie Langston Estes of Franklin, NC, Mary Jo Rosson and her husband Jeff of Calhoun, Ethelyn Fann of Marietta, and Peggy Greeson and her husband Charles of Resaca; special caregivers, Pat Brown and Anita Brown; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Jerry Ray Henson will be held Saturday, February 7th at 4:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Billy Henson, Gary Henson, Scott Nesbitt, and Phillip Henson.

The Henson family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 2:00 PM until the service hour of 4:00 PM.
