Jerry Ruth Gentry Dean

Ms. Jerry Ruth Gentry Dean, age 68 of Adairsville, formerly of Resaca, has went to heaven to be with her Lord and her father and mother, Mr. J.R. Gentry and Mrs. "Polly" Ruth Gazaway Gentry Anderson on Sunday, May 8, 2011. She passed while in treatment at Select Hospital in Emory Midtown in Atlanta. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her companion, Mr. Bill Dean on March 1, 2011.

Ms. Dean was a native of Gordon County, and was retired from a Quality Control career.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Dean Moore of Adairsville; two sons, Brad Dean of Adairsville, and Michael Dean of Resaca; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol Gentry Conley and Dr. Richard Conley of Arlington, TX, and Brenda Gentry Thompson and Larry Thompson of Dalton; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lyle and Janelle Dean of Adairsville. Other survivors are eight grandchildren, Ms. Jennifer Scoggins of Rome, Amy and Seth Thompson of Calhoun, Tony and Rana Moore of Crestview, FL, Ms. Brandy Dean of Adairsville, Mr. Andy L. Moore of Portales, NM, Dustin and Kimberly Moore of Rome, Chris and Brittany Dean of Calhoun, and Ms. Paige Dean of Calhoun; eight great-grandchildren, Kadin Scoggins, Braylen, Scoggins, Gavin Thompson, Gracyn Thompson, Isah Moore, Autumn Moore, Cole Dean, and Landon Moore. Nieces and nephews surviving are Joeann and Nevin Weaver, Jimmy and Vicki Dean, Danny Dean, Ronald and April Dean, and Kimsey and Trina Dean. Four great-nephews and four great-nieces also survive.

Funeral services for Ms. Jerry Ruth Gentry Dean will be held Friday, May 13th at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Resaca. Active pallbearers will include Tony Moore, Andy Moore, Kadin Scoggins, Kimsey Dean, Danny Dean, and Ronald Dean. Honorary escorts are Brad Dean, Michael Dean, Chris Dean, Braylen Scoggins, Gavin Thompson, Cole Dean, and Landon Moore.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday from 3:00pm until 9:00pm.
