Jessie Delina Blackwell

Mrs. Jessie Delina Blackwell, age 65 of Calhoun, passed away Monday, July 13, 2009 at Cartersville Medical Center. She was born in Shelbyville, Tennessee on January 17, 1944, daughter of the late Adam R.C. DeFoor and Lois Elizabeth Fowler DeFoor. Mrs. Blackwell was retired from Lacey Mills, and was a member of Fairmount First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, James Howard Blackwell of the home; a son, Jamie Fann of Tate, Georgia; and a brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Shirley DeFoor of Calhoun. Two nephews, Matt DeFoor and his wife Tishanna of Rome and Neil DeFoor and his wife Nadia of Calhoun, a great nephew Rand DeFoor and a great niece Avery DeFoor also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Delina Blackwell will be conducted Wednesday, July 15 at 2:00pm from the Fairmount First Baptist Church, with Rev. Rick Langston officiating. Mrs. Blackwell will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Cemetery. Wayne Fowler will conduct the graveside rites. Honorary pallbearers will include the men of the Fairmount First Baptist Church. Music will be arranged by the church choir.
