Jewell Mccollum

Miss Jewell McCollum, age 72 of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 following several years of declining health. She was born June 28, 1937, daughter of Willie Paul and Annie Bell Cook Chamlee. Miss McCollum had been employed in the textile industry, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the South Calhoun Baptist Church.

Survivors include her mother, Annie Chamlee of Calhoun; an aunt, Effie Sturtz of Calhoun; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Miss Jewell McCollum will be conducted Wednesday at 3:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Larry Holden, Michael Holden, Ricky Holden, Timmie Holden, David Powell, and Mike Powell. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home Wednesday at 2:15pm. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.
