Jimmy Knight

Jimmy Milton Knight, 88, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

Jimmy was born in Gordon County and was the son of Claude Milton Knight and Vera Edwards Knight. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Camille Brett.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Scottie Foster Knight; son, Todd (Kelli) Knight of Rockwall, TX; daughter, Beth (Robby) Brett of Bartow, GA. He is also survived by grandchildren Landon (Lisa) Knight of Rowlett, TX, Sawyer (Kennedy) Knight of Plano, TX, Foster (Jessica) Brett of Wadley, GA, Walker (Laurel) Knight of Rockwall, TX and Claire Brett of Bartow, GA. There are two great-grandchildren, Carson Brett and Lillie Ann Brett of Wadley, GA. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Peggy Foster Craig of Calhoun, GA and a brother-­in-law, Doyle Temples of Rydal, GA as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jimmy graduated from Calhoun High School in 1954 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. His entire life was spent in the printing business beginning at an early age with his parents, continuing with his wife, Scottie, until retirement. He was a member of Belmont Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and worked with the Kentucky Mission Project. He was one of the original founders and a board member of Georgia Bank & Trust (now Synovus Bank).

The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers are Foster Brett, Robby Brett, Landon Knight, Walker Knight, Sawyer Knight, Jon Parker, and Cal Parker.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
