Mr. Jimmy Wayne Miller, age 64 of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Kindred Hospital in Rome. He was born in Floyd County on July 13, 1949, son of the late J.B. Miller and the late Mamie Wilson Serrit. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Miller.

Jimmy had been employed in the textile industry, but also enjoyed assisting Bro. Lamar Hand with his Gordon Health Care nursing home ministry. He loved to roller skate and was an instructor in his earlier years. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and all outdoor activities.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Gail Hartsfield Miller; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Michael Hunter of Calhoun; step-daughters, Rebecca Whitfield and her husband Matt, Nicole Blaylock and John Lot, and Melissa McMahan and her husband Shane, all of Calhoun; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Faith Miller of Adairsville, and Steve and Tammy Miller of Calhoun. Grandchildren are Demitri Miller, Brittany Long, Andrew Miller, Jonathon Whitfield, Sara Whitfield, Ashton Whitfield, Destiny Lot, and Eli Lot.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Jimmy Wayne Miller will be held Tuesday April 1st at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Bro. Lamar Hand officiating. Music will be arranged by Henry Durham and Eleanor Silvers. Interment will follow the service in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will include Jimmy Glass, Darrell Pasley, Kenny Parker, Michael Hunter, Matthew Hunkapiller, and David Land.

The family will receive friends Monday, March 31st at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
