Joan Pass Dodd

Mrs. Joan Dodd, age 75 of Calhoun, passed away early Sunday morning, April 9, 2017 at her home, following several years of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on April 2, 1942, daughter of Evelyn Greeson Stephens, and the late Max Forster Pass. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Lamar Stephens; and a brother-in-law, Robert Craig.
Joan was a homemaker, and prior to her illness, was an active member of South Calhoun Baptist Church for many years.
She leaves behind her husband, Bobby J. Dodd; her mother, Evelyn Stephens of Calhoun; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Billy Johnson of Fairmount, Ann and Gerald Mashburn, Vivian and Randy Reddick, and Patsy Craig, all of Calhoun; nieces and nephews, David and Judy Craig of Calhoun, Carla and Brian Blackstock of Calhoun, Amy and Delbert Chambers of Calhoun, Julie and Bart Hurley of Fairmount, and Brent and Alice Mashburn of Calhoun; and her Godson, Donnie Nesbitt and his wife Tracie of Calhoun. A host of friends and other relatives also survive.
Services to honor the life of Mrs. Joan Dodd will be held Tuesday, April 11th at 3:00 PM from South Calhoun Baptist Church, with Rev. Gary Bowman, Rev. Clifford Free, and Rev. Gregg Free officiating. Music will be arranged by Brian Padgett. Joans body will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 2:00 PM until the service hour. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Deacons of South Calhoun Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Monday, April 10th at 5:00 PM.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Heyman Hospice, and Janet Fife, for their caregiving during Joans illness.
