Joann Cox Greeson

Mrs. JoAnn Cox Greeson, age 57 of Calhoun, died Monday, August 8, 2011 at Gordon Hospital. She was born in Gordon County on January 7, 1954, daughter of the late Jesse Hugh Cox and Willa Mae Johnson Cox. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Cox.

Joann was employed with TimKen as a purchasing agent, and was a member of Belmont Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Van Greeson; a son and daughter-in-law, Hunt and Kelly Hammond of Ocilla, GA; a daughter and son-in-law, Natalie and Andy Thomas of Calhoun; a brother and sister-in-law, Hugh and Melinda Cox of Calhoun; a sister-in-law, Ann Greeson; a brother-in-law, David Erwin and his wife Sue; grandchildren, Nelson Gravitt and Gage Hammond and by two step-grandchildren, Erika and Dylan Thomas. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. JoAnn Cox Greeson will be held Wednesday, August 10 at 3:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Mitch Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Bo Richardson, Tony McBrayer, David Erwin, Trace Hammond, Nick Green, Brent Davis, and Zack Lusk. Music will be arranged by Donna Fuquea Couch.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
