Joanne Barton Williams

Mrs. Joanne Barton Williams, age 74, formerly of Gordon County and lately of Buchanan, Georgia, departed this life on Friday, July 20, 2007 at Tanner Medical Center in Bremen, Georgia.

Mrs. Williams was born December 16, 1932 in Gordon County. She was the daughter of Mitchell T. Barton and Rosa Lee Edwards Barton, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Washington (JW) Williams, and by a brother, Crawford Wayne Barton.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her three children; John Edwin Williams and Kathy Marie Williams Adcock of Calhoun, and Beverly Anne Ruddell Evans of Austin, Texas; grandchildren; Castle Adam Williams and Traci Marie Young Miles of Calhoun; Anna Morgan Isackes and Carol Elizabeth Isackes of Austin, Texas, and a brother, Billy Barton of Resaca.

Funeral services for Mrs. Joanne Barton Williams will be held Monday at 2:00pm, from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Jack Baker officiating. Singing will be arranged by Mrs. Iris Parker. Pallbearers serving will include Carl Adcock, Harry Pierce, Mitchell Pierce, Stephen Edwards, Bryon Sosebee and Grady Young. Burial will follow the service at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery near Resaca. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Sunday evening between the hours of 4:00pm and 6:00pm.
