Mrs. Jody Gaynes, age 70 of Calhoun, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2010 at her residence following several months of declining health. She was born in Champagne, Illinois on September 13, 1939, daughter of the late James Arthur Graves and the late Marcella Mullikin Graves.
Mrs. Gaynes was a retired Flight Attendant with Eastern Airlines, and was a member of New Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Charles Gaynes; a son, Brian Gaynes of Calhoun; a daughter and son-in-law, Marcie and Terry Gorsuch of Kennesaw; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Ellen Graves of Illinois, and Jimmy and Vickie Graves of Florida; and grandchildren, Leah Marie Clark, Garrett Michael Clark, and Tyler Lee Gorsuch. Special cousins Bill and Judy O'Neill of Illinois and other relatives also survive.
Memorial services for Mrs. Jody Gaynes will be conducted Sunday, April 11th at 4:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Lamar Bearden officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00pm until the service hour of 4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Mrs. Gaynes name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), 26 Broadway, 14th Floor New York, NY 10004, or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244.
