Joe Ferguson

Mr. Joe Ferguson, age 69 of 198 Pine Crest Drive, Resaca died Wednesday evening at his residence following a brief illness.

Mr. Ferguson was born in Gordon County, son of the late Walt and Mary Allen Ferguson. He was owner of Ferguson Plumbing & Electrical for 45 years, and was a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Ferguson was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Towers Ferguson in 1988.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharmon Gazaway and her husband Wayne of Calhoun; two sons, Heath Ferguson and his wife Amanda of Sugar Valley, GA and Keith Ferguson and his wife Teresa of Calhoun; one sister, Reanie Floyd and her husband Jeff of Calhoun, and Jeanie Woodyard of Calhoun; and one brother, Preston Ferguson of Calhoun. Nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Joe Ferguson will be held Friday at 12:00 noon from the Chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Heath Ferguson, Rev. Justin Gazaway, Rev. Bobby Thomas, and Rev. Sammy Allen officiating. Music will be arranged by Mike Bunch. Interment will follow in the Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Wes Gazaway, Justin Gazaway, Jordan Gazaway, Matt Ferguson, Gage Ferguson, Barak Ferguson, Chris Boswell, and Jeff Floyd. These gentlemen are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 11:00 AM Friday.

The Ferguson family will receive friends Thursday evening between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
