Joe Kilpatrick

Mr. Joe Kilpatrick age 62 of Calhoun, died Thursday October 4, 2012 at Floyd Medical Center in Rome.

Joe was affectionately known by his family as "Paw-Paw". He was born in Cleveland, Tennessee on October 31, 1949, son of the late Earl and Willie Mae Johnson Kilpatrick. He was a graduate of Bradshaw High School in Florence, AL, and later served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He received numerous commendations, awards and medals during his military enlistment. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he later moved to Gordon County in 1972. He retired from Landis Gardner Incorporated, and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Woodring Kilpatrick, to whom he was married for 33 years; two daughters, Lisa Fox of Calhoun and Dawn Fox Hembree and her husband John Masley of Eccles, West Virginia; a son, Tracy Fox of Calhoun; a sister, Janice Holden of Lebanon,, TN; grandchildren, Colby Colston, Dustin Fox, Derek Colston, Jacob Colston, Sara Colston, Megan Hembree and Kaylie Hembree; step-mother, Rose Kilpatrick; a special niece, Paige Caldwell; and special friends, Carol Hawkins and Kelly Craig; along with several aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Joe Kilpatrick will be held Saturday, October 6th at 3:00pm from the Salem Baptist Church, with Dr. William Roberts officiating. Music will be arranged by Paul Sneed. Interment will follow the service at the East View Cemetery in Adairsville with military honors. Active pallbearers will include Colby Colston, Dustin Fox, Derek Colston, Jacob Colston, Devin Hayes, John Masley, Winfred Hawkins, and Terry Timms. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult 5 Sunday School Class of Salem Baptist Church.

The Kilpatrick family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.
