Mr. John Frank Dobson, age 73 of Resaca, GA died Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Gordon Hospital following several months of declining health. He was born in Gordon County, son of the late Henry and Annie Freeman Dobson.
Mr. Dobson was a member of the Native American Preservation Association of Georgia, and a sponsor and council member of Running Water Pow Wow of Rome, GA.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Gertrude Thomas Dobson of the residence; a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Carolyn Dobson of Ranger; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Robert Tutterrow of Lookout Mountain, GA; and a grandchild, Leeana Dobson. Other survivors include a nephew, Kirk Tutterrow; special nieces, Pat Phipps, Katie Corbin, and Stacie Mullins; his beloved pets, Wa Ya and Shannga; and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. John Frank Dobson will be held Saturday, November 12th at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Joseph Pierce, a Native American Cherokee/Shawnee, and Kevin Phipps officiating. Mr. Dobson's body will be cremated following the service.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home for funeral expenses.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
