John Franklin Greene

Mr. John Franklin Greene, age 63 of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Redmond Regional Medical Center following six months of illness.

He was born on November 12, 1946 in Gordon County, son of the late Woodrow and Wilma Johnson Greene. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Greene Moore; three brothers, Gayle Greene, Ronnie Greene and Larry Greene; and a nephew; Terry Dale Crowe. During his lifetime he was employed as a truck driver for Horizon Industries of Calhoun.

Mr. Greene is survived by a daughter, Tammy Stephens and her husband David of Adairsville; a sister, Joan Greene Crow of Calhoun; a brother; Lamar Greene of Calhoun; two grandchildren, Britney Hardy Woody and Nikki Leigh Hardy; a great grandchild, Aleigha Breann Woody; and a nephew, Charles Shane Moore. In addition to his family, he had a beloved pet dog named Poochie.

Funeral services for Mr. John Franklin Greene will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Wesley Hunt officiating. Music will be arranged by Faye Land. Pallbearers serving will include David Washington, Randy Johns, Michael Land, Jim Jackson, Chad Stewart and Bill Combs. Interment will follow the service at the Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday during the hours of 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
