Mr. John Lewis Rose, age 83 of Calhoun, died Sunday, August 19, 2012 at his residence following several years of declining health. He was born in Chattooga County, GA on August 31, 1928, and was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Rose.
Mr. Rose was a veteran, serving his country in the US Army from 1946 until 1954. He was a self employed electrician, and was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include a son, John Lewis Rose, Jr.; a daughter, Tonya; and his caregiver and best friend, Dean Parker.
Funeral services for Mr. John Lewis Rose will be held Wednesday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor Norris Sexton officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Rome. Active pallbearers will include Johnny Willis, Ricky Parker, Blade Parker, Mike Kinsey, Tony Kinsey, and Dustin Watwood. Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Freeman, Porter Pledger, and Roger McDaniel.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
