Johnnie Ruth Dean

Johnnie Ruth Dean, 89, of Calhoun, died Saturday, January 06, 2018 at Calhoun Health Care. She was born in Gordon County on March 12, 1928, daughter of the late Vince Winfield and Myrtle McKinley Timms Allen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Dean; a son-in-law, Billy Dixon; and her sister, Nettie Baker.

Mrs. Dean had been employed with A&A Vending. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Gale Dixon, and Wanda and Terry Rogers; her brother and sister-in-law, Bro. Sammy and Jimmie Lou Allen; and her grandchildren, Nathan Dixon, Crystal (Jeff) Rule, Timothy (Angie) Shaw, and Stacie (Sky) Bryant. Nine great-grandchildren also survive.

Services to honor the life of Johnnie Ruth Dean will be held Monday, January 8th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Bro. Sammy Allen and Pastor Terry Timms officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Samuel Allen, Terry Timms, Scott Bryant, Ricky Bryant, Eddie Timms, and Franklin Lance. Honorary pallbearers are Joey Baker, Kevin Smith, and Heath Smith.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 7th from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
