Obituary
Mr. Johnnie Vincent Cooper, 94, of Calhoun, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, December 21, 2020.
Mr. Cooper was born in Gordon County on August 13, 1926, son of the late Horace Cooper and Bessie Hicks Cooper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; BonnieLee Adams Cooper, and by a grandson; Joshua Cooper. He was a textile worker prior to retirement and he loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater where he received the Victory Medal, along with the Army of Occupation Medal Japan. He was honorably discharged on December 8, 1946, at the Rank of Corporal.
Survivors include his daughters; Sandra Tolbert of Plainville and Shelia (Mitchell) Woody of Plainville, sons; Johnny D. (Denise) Cooper of Adairsville and Keith Cooper of Sonoraville, grandchildren; Lucas and Cole Edwards, Brandon Copeland, Nicholas Woody, Zachary Woody, Julie Horton, Tiffany Hewlett, great-grandchildren; Natalie, Rylan, McKenley, Aubrey, Percephine, Ashley, Chaz, Sheridan, Sydney, Emma, Jocelyn, and Jacqlyn, longtime companion and friend; Janet Howard.
A memorial service for Mr. Johnnie Vincent Cooper will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Eddie Brannon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
