Johnny Clemie Long

Mr. Johnny Clemie Long, age 56 of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Gordon County on June 16, 1954, son of the late Doc and Lucille McRee Long. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Selena Long, Wanda Turner, and Mildred Peardon. Mr. Long was employed in the carpet industry before becoming disabled.

Survivors include his wife, Sherrie Wells Smith Long; four brothers, Clarence Long of Resaca, A.W. Long of Rossville, Buddy Long of Augusta, and Billy Long of Sugar Valley; five sisters, Inez Williams of Calhoun, Mae Smith of Scottsville, Mary Breeden of Calhoun, Rosie Hall of Calhoun, and Betty Gillette of Calhoun; a step-daughter, Leslie Bates; and a step-granddaughter, Graceland Kinsey, both of Villanow.

Memorial services for Mr. Johnny Clemie Long will be conducted Sunday, August 15th at 1:30pm from the Cornerstone Full Gospel Church, with Rev. Ricky Clark officiating.
