Johnny Davis

Mr. Johnny Davis, age 62 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Gordon County on October 18, 1947, son of the late William Clyde and Clara Smith Davis. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Lamar Davis, and a sister, Betty Lou Davis.

Mr. Davis loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and enjoyed being outside and taking care of his animals. He was a member of the Cornerstone Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Hilda Causby Davis; a son, Kevin Davis of Calhoun; a daughter and son-in-law, Christie and Johnny Hayes of Dalton; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Carol Davis, Jerry and Linda Davis, Junior and Thelma Davis, and L.C. and Odessa Davis, all of Calhoun; and four sisters and brothers-in-law, Nina and Hugh Jackson, Faye and J.D. Addy, Joyce and Ricky Kirby, all of Calhoun, and Norma Jean Stone of Ranger. Grandchildren surviving are Tyler Hayes, Kirsten Hayes, and Kevin Lee Sexton. A sister-in-law, Helen Davis of Calhoun; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Johnny Davis will be conducted Friday, May 28th at 1:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor J.B. Kirby and Pastor Jerry Gaddis officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
