Johnny Franklin James

Mr. Johnny Franklin James, age 67 of Chatsworth, died Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at his residence following several months of declining health. He was born on May 11, 1944 in Bartow County, son of the late Webster and Pauline Bailey James. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Darren James; a brother, Sonny James; and two sisters, Jackie Kalevas and Annette Parker.

Before becoming disabled, Mr. James was employed with Oriental Weavers. He was a veteran, serving his country in the US Army, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.

Survivors include his wife of nineteen years, Donna Camp James; two sons and daughters-in-law, Stacey and Melinda James, and Chip and Shannon James; a daughter, Alethea Salmons; and a sister, Barbra Avery, all of Calhoun. Grandchildren surviving are Brittney and Brandon Biddy, Katie James, Bly James, Tori Salmons, Justice Salmons, and Bailey Salmons.

Funeral services for Mr. Johnny Franklin James will be held Thursday, August 4th at 11:00am from the graveside of Fain Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
