Obituary

Johnny P. Summers, 72, of Resaca, GA died Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Advent Gordon Health. He was born on June 13, 1948 in Whitfield County to the late Henry and Laura Williams Summers. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Williams and Henry Summers; sisters, Alice Hammock, Linda Summers, and Caroline (Chester) Grace; grandson, Matthew Russell Riffle.
He grew up in the holiness faith and attended Grace Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mildred Baggett Summers; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Jade Summers and Jeff and Angela Summers; daughters and son-in-law, Melaine and Larry Arnold and Rebecca Gilbert; brothers and sister-in-law, Eddie and Nancy Summers and Bobby Summers; sisters and brother-in-law, Cathy Maines and Teresa and Michael Kilpatrick; grandchildren, Jillena Summers, John Davis, Emily Davis, Brittany Gravitt, Chris Summers, Desenty Lamb, Corey Williams, and Jamey Puckett; great grandchildren, Laura Lynn Gravitt, Ava Gravitt, Noah Towe, Elizabeth Towe, Haisley Davis, and Emerson Bryant; special friend, Wayne Hollingsworth.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery at Hall Memorial. Pallbearers are, John Davis, Chris Summers, Todd Collins, Robert Wells, James Summers, and Corey Williams. Honorary pallbearers are, Larry Arnold and Wayne Hollingsworth.
