Mrs. Joy Ellen Milliner, age 79 of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2009. She was born in Jefferson County, Alabama on February 24, 1930, daughter of the late Robert Lincoln Brannon and Sara Elizabeth Weber Brannon.
During her lifetime, Mrs. Milliner had been employed with the State of Florida Health Department, and the Northwest Regional Health Department. She was an avid Civil War enthusiast, and enjoyed studying and collecting memorabilia from that period.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Milliner.
Survivors include a son, Steven Suttle of Chicago, Illinois; a daughter and son-in-law, Gay and Clifton Phillips of Calhoun; two grandchildren, Brian Fike and Jennifer Phillips; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary Fike and Emilee Watson.
Mrs. Milliner's body will be cremated, and a private family memorial service will follow at a later date.
