Mrs. Joyce Nancy Kinsey Rogers, age 72 of Sugar Valley, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013 following a period of declining health. She was born on November 28, 1941 in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late Connie Alonzo Kinsey and the late Katie Louise Adams.
Mrs. Rogers was a member of the 1960 graduating class of Calhoun High School. She was a customer service representative for Aldons and Shaheen Carpets.
She leaves behind her husband of 53 years, Carlton Rogers; a son, Jim Rogers and his wife Debbie of Calhoun; a daughter Connie Thayer and her husband Jerry of Sugar Valley; and grandchildren, Tiffany and Ted Dahlberg, Katie Rogers, Alex Williams, Ceara Williams, and Keyleigh Thayer.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Joyce Nancy Kinsey Rogers will be held Friday, December 20th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Ray Teems and Rev. Art Graves officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Jack Brown, Kevin Croy, Randall Harrison, Alex Williams, and Bill Dempsey. Honorary pallbearers are Lawerence Maudlin, John Banks, the Ladies Auxiliary from the American Legion and VFW, Sam Jewett, and Lamar Owen.
The Rogers family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
