Joyce Scoggins Kisselburg

May 19, 1949 — February 13, 2015

Mrs. Joyce Scoggins Kisselburg, 65 of Resaca, GA passed away Friday, February 13, 2015 following an extended illness. She was born in Cartersville, GA on May 19, 1949, daughter of the late Bill John and Faye Carr Scoggins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James William Kisselburg in 2012; brothers, Teddy Scoggins, Earl Dean Scoggins, and Ray Scoggins; and a sister, Betty Jo Scoggins.

Joyce loved going to the mountains, singing, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Immanuel United Fellowship in Murray County.

She leaves behind her children, Carolyn Newman and her husband Cliff, Nan Hunter and her husband James, James Kisselburg and his wife Teresa, and Carl Kisselburg and his wife Karen; and sisters, Marcia Collum and Diane Nichols of Cartersville, and Jeanette Treadaway of Sugar Valley. Fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and twenty nieces and nephews also survive.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Joyce Scoggins Kisselburg will be held Monday, February 16th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Bro. Andy Lands officiating. Interment will follow in the Center Valley Cemetery in Chatsworth. Active pallbearers will include Carl Kisselburg, Charles Agan, Tracy Baldwin, Tommy Bost, Randy Smith, and Chris Kisselburg. Honorary pallbearers are T.J. Baldwin and David Nichols.

The Kisselburg family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday after 3:00 PM.
