Juanita Blalock

Mrs. Juanita Waters Blalock, age 67 of Hunt Drive, Calhoun, Georgia, died Friday evening, March 16, 2007 at Redmond Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mrs. Blalock was born on May 12, 1939 in Gordon County,daughter of the late Tom and Wilma White Waters. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Blalock. During her lifetime, she was employed as an Accountant for the textile industry and was a devoted member of the Russell Hill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Blalock is survived by two sons; Jackie Blalock and his wife, Betsy of Adairsville, Georgia; and David Blalock and his wife, Vickey of Ranger, Georgia. One sister; Virginia Walraven and her husband, the late Charles Walraven. Two brothers; Robert Waters and his wife, Betty of Villanow, Georgia; and A.C. Waters and his wife, Brenda of Chattanooga, Tennessee. One sister-in-law; Florence Hughes, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Juanita Waters Blalock will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Russell Hill Baptist Church with Brother Joe Hall officiating. Mrs. Blalock will lie in state at the church Sunday for 30 minutes prior to the service. Singing will be arranged by the Russell Hill Baptist Church Choir. Active pallbearers serving will include Jay Phillips, Rick Grizzle, Jerry Shugart, Charles Gentry, James Peeler and Tony Coggins. Mrs. Blalock's church family will compose as honorary escort. Burial will follow the services in the family lot of the Russell Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
