Mrs. Julia "Mowie" Martha McGaskey age 89 of Sugar Valley, Georgia died Tuesday December 23rd at her residence following several months declining health.
Mrs. McGaskey was born in Murphy, North Carolina on February 17th 1919 daughter of the late Joe and Callie Baker Callaway. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed McGaskey in 1968 and by one sister; Lucinda Davis and two brothers, Andrew Callaway and Hardin Callaway. She was a member of Sugar Valley Church of God for the past 70 years.
Mrs. Julia "Mowie" McGaskey is survived by two daughters; Lois Roberts of Sugar Valley, Georgia and Ann Silvers of Guntersville, Alabama and one son, Jack McGaskey of Calhoun. Five grandchildren; David, Michael and Keith Silvers, Lisa Bryant and Danny McGaskey and 10 great grandchildren and 1 great, great, grandchild.
Funeral services for Mrs. Julia "Mowie" McGaskey will be held Friday December 26th at 2:00 PM from the Sugar Valley Church of God with Rev. Dwaine Shadix officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Valley Church of God cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Jack McGaskey, James Roberts, David Raines, Billy Byford, Charles Baker and Tom Pickle.
