Julia Owens Jones

Mrs. Julia Owens Jones, age 49 of Ranger, GA passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at her residence following a period of declining health. She was born in Fairmount, GA on September 15, 1964, daughter of Gene and Viola Rogers Owens and she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Frank Jones in 2009.

Julia had lived her entire life in Gordon County. She attended Fairmount Schools and Georgia Northwestern College and was employed by Thomas Concrete. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

She leaves behind her husband of 16 years, Marty Jones; a son and daughter-in-law, Wesley Colton and Sierra Jones; two brothers, Michael Owens and Waylon Owens, both of Fairmount; three sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carol and Lane Bearden, Cathy and Kenneth Hollaran, and Sherry and Jackie Gallman, all of Calhoun; mother-in-law, Joyce Jones of Calhoun; a granddaughter, Olivia Jones; a niece, Taryan Owens; a nephew, Dillon Owens; and special friend, Joyce Stinnett.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Julia Owens Jones will be held Monday, March 31st at 6:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. M.L. Thomas and Rev. Lamar Beason officiating.

The Jones family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Monday from 4:00 PM until the funeral hour of 6:00 PM.
