Julian Randolph Jones

Julian Randolph Jones, 74, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at his residence while surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born in Gordon County on January 17, 1950, to the late John and Frances Jones.

Julian and his wife Jackie owned and operated Nature’s Big Spring Water and J&J Transfer. He was a member of the class of 1968 at Calhoun High School where he excelled in baseball. Julian enjoyed sports especially golf, fishing, and earlier in his life, bird hunting. He was an avid fan of Crimson Tide football and the Atlanta Braves.

Julian is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Jackie Brannon Jones; daughters and sons-in-law, Corey Jones Young (Phillip) and Kathryn Jones Ledford (Cole); son and daughter-in-law, Chad Harkins (Tiffany); brothers, Larry Jones and Kenneth Jones; grandchildren, Jake Young (Jessi), Daniel Young, Will Cantrell, Wes Cantrell, Julianna Cantrell, Presley Ledford, Rowan Ledford, Roland Smith, Ariana Smith, and Steele Grizzle; nieces and nephews, Ken Jones, Gabe Jones, Jada Jones Bocchicchio, Jana Jones Knight, and Julie Jones Alexander.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Sonoraville Baptist Church with Rev. Jamey Hunt and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mitch Phillips officiating. Pallbearers are Phillip Young, Cole Ledford, Jake Young, Daniel Young, Will Cantrell, Wes Cantrell, and Roland Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Lee Brannon, Ken Jones, Gabe Jones, Jim Williams, Bo Newberry, Jimmy Fox, Chris Cleary, David Locke, Ritchie Wright, John Holcomb, Blake Derrick, employee's of Natures Big Spring Water Inc., the men of the Calhoun Elks Lodge, and Julian’s golfing buddies.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Sonoraville Baptist Church.

The family ask that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Sonora Lodge #221 F&AM, P.O. Box 2419, Calhoun, Georgia 30703.
