Mr. James William (J.W.) Kisselburg, Sr., age 66 of Fairmount, GA passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Gordon Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Bartow County, GA on June 8, 1945, son of the late Carl Herman Kisselburg and the late Nannie Viola Boswell Kisselburg. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lynn Kisselburg and Larry Kisselburg; and two sisters, Margaret Henson and Martha Bagwell.
J.W. had been employed with the Gordon County Road Department prior to retirement, and was a member of the Immanuel United Fellowship Church. He was an avid fisherman, and loved country cooking.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Joyce Annette Scoggins Kisselburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Teresa Kisselburg, Jr. of Calhoun, and Carl Eugene and Karen Kisselburg of Fairmount; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nannie and James Hunter of Fairmount, and Carolyn and Clifford Newman of Canton; and two sisters, Betty Chamley and Nannie Holcomb, both of Calhoun. Thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. James William (J.W.) Kisselburg will be held Saturday, June 9th at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Andy Lands and Rev. Jack Sanford officiating. Music will be arranged by Dewayne Payne and Ricky Scoggins. Interment will follow in the Center Valley Cemetery in Spring Place, GA. Active pallbearers will include Randy Smith, Chris Kisselburg, Carl Kisselburg, T.J. Baldwin, Tracy Baldwin, and Tommy Bost. Honorary pallbearers are Wade Baldwin, Ed Haney, Randy Smith, Jr., Kevin Collum, and Joe Collum.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the J.W. Kisselburg Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1027, Calhoun, GA 30703.
The Kisselburg family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday after 3:00pm.
