Mrs. Karella Long, age 68 of Calhoun, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 after several years of declining health.
Karella was born in Lenoir City, Tennessee on February 23, 1942, daughter of the late Tommy and Ada Jenkins Lawson. In addition to her parents, she also preceded in death by a son, Ricky Long; two brothers, Jack Lawson and Lester Lawson; and two brothers-in-law; Edward Dooley and Jimmy Blalock. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Long to whom she was married for 51 years; two sons, Randy Long and Clay Long, both of Calhoun; and a daughter-in-law, Bobbie Jo Long of Mississippi; four sisters, Chloie Dooley of Adairsville, Vickie Blalock and her husband Harold of Calhoun, Wanda Blalock of Adairsville, and Lonnita Willis and her husband Al of Adairsville; a brother, Jimmy Lawson of Calhoun; and two grandchildren, Ashley Hicks of Mississippi and Kambri Long of Calhoun. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Karella Lawson Long will be held Friday, December 3rd at 3:00PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Brent Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Tommy Phillips, Glenn Phillips, Lorin Lawson, Lanne Lawson, Gary Blalock and Kam Willis. Honorary pallbearers will include David Headrick, Curtis Mulkey, Tracey Densmore and Norris Burger.
The Long family will receive friends Thursday between the hours of 6:00PM and 9:00PM at the funeral home.
