Ms. Karen Lea Brannon, age 60 of the Sonoraville Community, Calhoun died Thursday, January 8th, 2009 in Gordon Hospital following a brief illness. Karen was born in Bartow County on October 28, 1948, daughter of Jessie Higdon Brannon and the late Howell Brannon. Karen had been associated with Mohawk Industries as a customer service representative, and attended the Farmville United Methodist Church.

Ms. Brannon is survived by her twin sister, Kathy Brannon of Calhoun; a sister, Trisha Brannon of Fairmount; one brother, Jeff Brannon and his wife Deborah of Calhoun; a niece, Paula Brannon Adams; and a grand niece, Halley Adams, along with her mother, Jessie Higdon Brannon Smith of Calhoun. A host of other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services for Ms. Karen Lea Brannon will be held on Saturday, January 10th at 11:00am, from Farmville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Guy Kent officiating. Doug Simons will be in charge of the music. Interment will follow in Ryo Cemetery in Fairmount. Honorary escort will consist of Reese and Glenda Barnard, Letha Beason, Bert and Dinkie Schendel, Bill and Wyonelle Dutton and Howard and Jewell Hall. They are request to assemble at the church on Saturday at 10:45am.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Farmville United Methodist Church, or your favorite charity in Karen's memory.

The family will receive friends Friday evening at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm. Online condolences may be expressed and the guestbook signed at www.maxbrannonandsons.com.
